Ammonium chloride, also known as sal ammoniac, is an inorganic crystalline salt with formula NH₄Cl, CAS 12125-02-9. It appears as white granular or powdery crystals, easily soluble in water with weak acidic aqueous solution. We supply two mainstream grades: agricultural grade and industrial grade, to match different production and farming requirements.
Agricultural Grade Ammonium Chloride
Agricultural ammonium chloride acts as a quick-release nitrogen fertiliser containing roughly 25% nitrogen. It dissolves fast in water so crops can absorb nitrogen rapidly. Farmers commonly apply it on rice, wheat, cotton and hemp crops. It strengthens plant stems, reduces lodging risk and suppresses certain soil-borne diseases.
This product works well in paddy fields with low nitrogen volatilization. It is also a key nitrogen raw material for compound fertilizer factories. Please note it is not suitable for chlorine-sensitive crops like potatoes, tobacco and sugarcane. Avoid mixing with alkaline fertilisers which will lower nutrient efficiency.
